These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of the MetaMate WordPress plugin, our hosted AI service, and the website metamateplugin.com (together, “MetaMate”). MetaMate is provided by Farhat Gull, a sole trader trading as MetaMate, of Unit 65683, Courier Point, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FH, UK (“we”, “us”, “our”). You can contact us at support@metamateplugin.com.
By buying, downloading, installing or using MetaMate you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
SearchVesa is a separate free plugin, available from WordPress.org under the GNU General Public License (GPL). It works on your own website, does not use AI, makes no calls to our servers and does not need a licence. Only sections 4, 6 and 9 to 13 apply to SearchVesa. The rest of these Terms apply to paid MetaMate plans.
What you get depends on your plan:
| Plan | What you get | Websites |
|---|---|---|
| Free | SearchVesa, from WordPress.org. No AI. No licence needed. | Any number, under the GPL |
| Standard | MetaMate with the Standard features shown on our pricing page. | 5 licensed websites |
| Premium | MetaMate with everything in Standard plus the Premium features shown on our pricing page. | 7 licensed websites |
The features of each plan, and the number of AI generations included each month, are shown on our pricing page when you buy. Your monthly allowance resets at the start of each calendar month.
Fair use. Your monthly allowance is a limit, not a target. We may temporarily limit, slow down or suspend AI generation on an account if its use is automated in a way that is not normal content publishing, tries to get around the monthly limit, or puts a disproportionate load on our systems. Where practical we will tell you first. This does not affect content you have already generated, or the parts of the Plugin that work without the AI service.
The Plugin code is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later, in line with WordPress. That means you may copy, study, modify and redistribute the code under the terms of that licence.
The following remain our exclusive property, separate from the GPL-licensed code:
Buying a licence gives you the right to use our hosted AI service and the paid features that depend on it, in line with your plan. It does not give you the right to use the MetaMate name, logo or trademark for your own purposes.
We do not claim ownership of your content or of the suggestions generated for you. AI suggestions may not be unique, and other users may receive similar ones.
While your paid licence is active, you can receive Plugin updates through your WordPress dashboard. We may release updates, security fixes and new features from time to time.
Support covers installation, activation and how the Plugin works. We cannot provide custom development, SEO consulting or troubleshooting of third-party software.
We may suspend or end your access to the AI service if you:
When access ends, the paid AI features stop working straight away. This does not affect your rights under the GPL in relation to the Plugin code. You may stop using MetaMate at any time by cancelling your plan.
We will provide the Plugin and the AI service with reasonable care and skill. We cannot promise that:
AI suggestions can be wrong or unsuitable, so please review them before you publish. SearchVesa is provided free of charge and “as is”, as set out in the GPL.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you are a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.
Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill or search rankings, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for anything arising from your use of paid MetaMate plans is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
You agree to:
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of any content you publish, and for any personal data you choose to send through the AI features (see our Privacy Policy).
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data under UK GDPR (and EU GDPR where it applies). Please read it together with these Terms.
We may update these Terms. The current version is always on this page with its “Last updated” date. If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to tell paying customers, for example by email.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in another country, you may also have the right to bring a claim in your local courts and to rely on the mandatory consumer protections of your country.
